• To establish more grassroots support for sustainability advocacy at the local level.
• To ensure that long-term city planning is done within the context of sustainability.

Our Work

1. Educational Events
   Sustainable Novato designs and produces educational events and community forums presenting the sustainable perspective.
2. Advocacy
   We encourage sustainable policies and practices in planning efforts in Novato e.g. the introduction and implementation of County sustainability programs such as a green building code, green business programs and reduction of climate changing pollutants.

Environment
The environment continues to be stressed beyond its long-term capability to sustain human life. In Novato, we are charged with careful stewardship of a bountiful array of local environmental assets.

Economy
Our local economy is intimately related to a healthy environment. The economic decisions we make have important consequences for our environment. For the long-term prosperity of our town, we need to make economic choices that look beyond the next quarter and to the next seven generations.

Community
Citizen participation, dialog and service will provide the human energy to make Novato's future more sustainable. Cultivating the arts of cooperation and understanding will let us take the best advantage of the range of assets potential in our city.
