2008 OFFICERS FOR SUSTAINABLE NOVATO
New officers elected January 17, 2008 to head Sustainable Novato, a grass-roots, all-volunteer, non-profit group that promotes sustainable policies and practices throughout the Novato community.
John Schlag, President
Active in Safe Routes to Schools and the Marin Bicycle Coalition, served on the former Novato Strategic Plan Oversight Committee (SPOC), former chair NUSD Energy Task Force. He is SONY Pictures Imageworks manager at Hamilton. Active in solar power initiatives.
Ms. Chan, Vice President Environmental Health Chair,
acting chair of the Green Schools Coalition of Novato, chairs the Internal Air Quality (IAQ) Steering Committee implementing EPA "Tools for Schools." She is a partner in the Collaborative on Health and the Environment (CHE), serves on the NUSD Integrated Pest Management Committee.

A certified Green Points Rater, member of the Marin County Energy Management Team, and home performance analyst with Renu of San Anselmo. Original founder of the Bay Area Environmental Education Resource (BAEER) Faire.

An NUSD counselor, College of Marin Board Member, graduate of the Environmental Forum of Marin's "Sustainable Marin" program for community leaders, founding member of the Novato Independent Business Alliance (NiBA) currently serving on steering committee, founding member United for Safe Schools Novato, serves on the NUSD IPM Committee.
Jeanne Santangelo, Interim Development Director
Writes "The Lazy Gardener" column on sustainable landscaping and living for the Novato Advance, is Development Director for both Sustainable Novato and the non-profit Casa Allegra Community Services that supports "Community Living, Education & Employment Opportunities for People With Disabilities" in Marin.
Sustainable Novato is actively soliciting board members. Our intention is to have a number of Vice Presidents with special areas of expertise.
